What would you do if you witnessed someone being brutally attacked? Would you rush to the victim's aid, call the cops or do nothing? Last month, many people opted to do nothing as a 31-year-old man laid unconscious for at least 20 minutes on a busy Washington, D.C., street corner, according to WJLA-TV. Jose Sanchez was an apparent victim of a brutal beating that happened in broad daylight. The suspects say Jose started the fight when he called one of them a homosexual. One suspect punched Jose. Minutes later, the other shoved him to the ground. As Jose fell, he hit his head on a nearby minivan. Adding injury to insult, some people who saw Jose lying helplessly on the frigid sidewalk stopped, pondered whether to help him and chose to walk away. One witness opted to continue loading their groceries, and the driver of the minivan chose to drive away. By the time, someone actually called 911, it was too late. Jose would die at a local hospital. WJLA reports it took an ambulance only two minutes to arrive to the scene. Charges against the suspects are expected to be upgraded from aggravated assault to murder. But what about the driver of the minivan; should the owner face any charges? And what would you do if you found yourself in a similar situation? Watch for yourself as passers-by ignore Jose Sanchez as he lay unconscious on a busy street corner in Washington, D.C. debate
