Emily ClarkEmily Clark is a Web site programmer, designer and content administrator with an emphasis in user experience and Web analytics. Some of her recent freelance projects include Chinika.com and FulfillTheVision.org. She has worked as a programmer and editor of online courses for Brigham Young University Independent Study, a Web Content Specialist for the University of Southern Mississippi and the US Department of Agriculture, and is currently employed as an Internet Analyst for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. She enjoys salsa dancing, tennis, and a well-seasoned steak.

Zeke

Zekeius “Zeke” Hibler, who fell in love with the snare drum at age 11, owns a music production company called ZFH Music. Two of the producer’s tracks are showcased on chinika.com’s features page and Rhonie’s Corner.Zeke’s musical style is a composite of soul, hip hop, blues, rock, classical, R&B and world music. His musical influences range from Prince to film composers John Williams and Danny Elfman to Dr. Dre. Zeke graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music industry with an emphasis in percussion studies from The University of Southern Mississippi.The music producer has played drums for several gospel artists such as Maurette Brown Clarke, Brent Jones, Tamela Mann, Paul Porter of the Christianaires, and hip-hop gospel artist Canton Jones. Ann Mapp

Ann Marie Mapp is a graphic designer for chinika.com. Ann Marie received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The University of Southern Mississippi, where she majored in graphic communication. In addition to her work with chinika.com, Ann Marie is the graphic designer for Forrest General Hospital’s Marketing and Communications Department. She has also utilized her skills in illustration to create original artwork for Forrest General Hospital’s Spirit of Women program. Several of her projects with Forrest General have won awards with the Mississippi Hospital Association. Ann Marie has also created the logo identity and brochure for Southern Pines Animal Shelter, as well as projects for Lamar County Jr. Miss, House of Hope and Coldwell Banker’s Premier Properties publications.

 

 

Chris MappChris Mapp is a managing editor of chinika.com, and also the better half of Ann Marie.Mapp is a former journalist, sportswriter and public relations manager currently completing his Ph.D. in Communication at Louisiana State University. His research interests include interpersonal conflict, assertiveness, deception in marriage, nonverbal communication and "self-talk."In his spare time, he plays guitar and relives the wonders of childhood through the eyes of his son, Michael.

 

 

 

 



Greg MorganGregory W. Morgan is the proofreader for chinika.com. Gregory, the son of Elizabeth and Gregory C. Morgan, is currently working on his doctorate in European history at The University of Southern Mississippi, where his focus is British imperialism, mainly into the Middle East, and its economic effects on the British Empire.He has a master's degree in European history from Southern Miss, where he also works as the proofreading coordinator in the Department of Marketing and Public Relations.Gregory earned his bachelor's degree in social science from William Carey University. Raised in Kiln, Miss.,the hometown of three-time NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion quarterback Brett Favre, Gregory is an avid sports fan. Despite never attending the university, Gregory roots for the LSU Tigers, largely because of his grandfather, who brainwashed him to be an LSU fan at a young age. Gregory also cheers for the New Orleans Saints and the Houston Astros.

Chinika.com photojournalist Eric J. Shelton was born in December 1985. Since an early age, he has been intrigued by music, art and interesting cultures. Oddly enough, he discovered his calling after purchasing an album by hip-hop artist Common. On that album cover, it had a famous photograph by world-renowned photojournalist Gordon Parks.  That single, powerful image would ultimately determine Eric’s career path. After his discovery of Gordon Parks and his amazing images, Eric spent several years studying the works of Henri Cartier Bresson, Sebastiao Salgado, Eugene Richards and Eli Reed. He also spent time perfecting his skills at the University of Southern Mississippi’s student newspaper, The Student Printz. When Eric is not on location for chinika.com, he’s busy completing several photo essays concerning the African-American community.
